Research Associate

CHIP of Roanoke is seeking a FT Research Associate. Responsible for designing, implementing and supporting evaluations of CHIP’s early learning and health care coordination activities, with the objective of obtaining evidence-based home visiting program status through HRSA. In addition position will act as a critical link between research, practice and quality within the organization by analyzing and translating evaluation and research data to inform practice and policy improvements across program initiatives. Must have an excellent understanding of research design including: methodology, sampling, questionnaire development, data collection, analysis, report writing. Be proficient in computer software including SPSS or similar statistical programs. Have knowledge of relational database, Access and/or SQL a plus.

Qualifications: Ph.D. complete or completion within 6 months in Child Development, Human Development, Family Studies, Public Health Developmental or Educational Psychology or a related field. Minimum three years of experience in research projects with a minimum of two of the three years in applied research setting or program setting and a minimum of one of the three years in research project management.

Marketing Intern

CHIP of Roanoke is seeking a marketing intern to assist with the development of a marketing plan.  This position is an unpaid, 5 month internship that can be utilized for school credits if available from your school.
Responsibilities include:

      • Build Briefs for each sub-group of target audiences of CHIP
        • Develop a targeted message for each subgroup that includes:
          • Our LEAD claim
          • Supporting reason to believe
          • What we wan them to do
      • Review Development Calendar and develop a “Press Plan” & press kits for the year.
      • Develop and implement a plan to increase visibility through Facebook and grow network of Friends.
      • Develop a plan to promote the Text to Give program.
      • Develop a plan for Micro-giving through CHIP.
      • Assist with CHIP Special Event planning.
      • Design Calendar/Flyers for CHIP family-focused events.
      • Assist with raising visibility for volunteer recruitment.
