Service Area

CHIP of Roanoke Valley is located in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia. Our service area includes urban, suburban and rural populations and encompasses the Virginia cities of Roanoke and Salem as well as the counties of Roanoke, Botetourt, and Craig. The described area, known as the “greater Roanoke Valley” covers 1,100 square miles and has an estimated MSA population of 303,418. 

 

The Roanoke MSA is the fourth largest in Virginia and the largest outside of the eastern half of the state. According to recent data from the Annie E. Casey Foundation Kids Count data, 32.4% of children in Roanoke city live in poverty.
